FRONTIER
Frontier is ACO’s newest ministry and helps students and followers of Christ engage in short-term mission experiences into the rural parts of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and South Sudan with unreached people groups. Tough sledding faces the groups as the majority of the trips are 10+ outside of Capital cities. Camping, finding water, long walks and hot days usually make the trips miserable. Our staff identify indigenous missionaries and pastors in the regions of the unreached and partner with them in reaching out to their targets.
East Africa still has a high number of unreached or under reached areas and tribes with the Gospel. ACO staff engage current SDM students, graduates, and local church members in short-term mission trips to regions where the Gospel has not reached. ACO Frontier staff explain it this way; We begin on a tarmac road, we get closer when we start down dirt roads, and we arrive after a few hours on a livestock trail. Frontier staff partner with local pastors in the regions to insure that teaching and training follow the Gospel. SDM students are encouraged to invest their time on such trips and we pray that some catch the vision of staying for a lifetime.
